Sheet Metal Corner Relief

Sheet metal corner relief.

Individual corners can be selected or collect all corners can be used. Choose create relief in the sheet metal menu. Click the create relief tool button on the sheet metal ribbon tab. Select a hard edge bend face flange face or 3d solid entire model.

Click corner relief sheet metal toolbar or insert sheet metal corner relief. For example if you make a partial flange as above using all the defaults the software makes relief cuts at the end of the bends as shown to the right. In the corner relief propertymanager under scope select the sheet metal body to which to apply the corner relief. You can add a corner relief to a single sheet metal body.

With the flat pattern activated select insert sheet metal corner trim or select it from the corner button on the command manager toolbar. Select an item see the note below. You can apply corner relief automatically to all corners or manually to individual sets of corners. At the time we only explained how these reliefs worked.

How sheet metal corner reliefs are applied to the body in december 2013 we showed the new types of corner reliefs that were added with solidworks 2014. When you add relief sheet metal sections are removed from the model. Under corners click collect all corners to list all corners in the sheet metal body. Bend relief synchronous sheet metal is pretty cool even cooler than just normal synchronous modeling if you ll excuse that word.
